COMMON QUESTIONS

Starting Flight Training Should Feel Exciting, Not Overwhelming.

Here are a few questions new and returning students commonly ask.

Do I need flight experience before I start?

No. All pilots begin with no flight experience. Your training can begin with a conversation about your goals and a first lesson or discovery flight.

Can I train around work or school?

Training plans should fit realistically into your schedule. Consistency matters, but your approach can be shaped around your availability and goals.

How much does flight training cost?

Cost depends on aircraft access, frequency of training, the type of certificate or rating, and individual progress. Contact Isaac to discuss your situation and available options.

How long does flight training take?

Training time varies based on aircraft availability, weather, lesson frequency, preparation, and individual progress. Consistent training and studying between lessons usually lead to faster progress and a more efficient path to your goal.

What should I do before contacting Isaac?

You don't need to prepare anything complicated. Think about your aviation goals, your current experience level, and what you would like help accomplishing.

How do I know which flight training option is right for me?

The best option depends on your goals, experience, schedule, and the type of flying you want to do. We will talk through your interests and help you choose a training path that fits your needs, whether you are starting with a discovery flight, working toward a private pilot certificate, or pursuing an advanced rating.

Do I need a medical certificate before I begin?

Not necessarily. You can begin learning and discussing your training goals before completing every certification step. Isaac can help you understand when a medical certificate may be needed for the type of training and flying you plan to do.

Can I train if I have taken a break from flying?

Yes. Whether you are returning after a few months or several years, your training can begin with an assessment of your current knowledge and skills. From there, Isaac can build a refresher plan around your goals and comfort level.

Do I need a student pilot license to start training?

No. You can begin flight lessons and fly with an instructor before receiving a student pilot certificate. You will need one before flying solo, and Isaac can guide you through the process when you are ready.

Mike R.

Private Pilot Student

“I asked him to do a mock oral to prep me for my checkride coming up. He didn’t know me at all. I reached out to him, and he dropped everything and put me through an extremely thorough prep. I loved it. His knowledge is solid. Super solid. His ability to teach is awesome. Five stars for sure.”

★★★★★

Kenyon

Private Pilot Student

“I had Isaac help me with ground school in preparation for the written exam. I had completed an online course but didn’t feel confident. Isaac met with me a few times a week, and I passed. I appreciated that he would prepare topics to discuss and help me go over the practice tests I took.”

Brandon P.

Private Pilot Student

“Isaac was a really good AGI. He knows his stuff and answered all of my questions. We did a mock oral for my PPL checkride, and it went great. He gave me good resources, and you can tell he puts a lot of work into making sure his students will pass their checkride.”
